Tanchjim Origin

The Tanchjim Origin represents the latest addition to the brand’s lineup, serving as its flagship single dynamic driver IEM. At the heart of this impressive offering lies a 5th-generation DMT dynamic driver unit equipped with a composite diaphragm. This cutting-edge driver technology is engineered to deliver a promising, immersive listening experience characterized by clarity, detail, and dynamics.

It also comes equipped with three sets of replaceable tuning nozzles, offering users a customizable audio experience tailored to their preferences. These nozzles feature different-density acoustic filters, allowing users to fine-tune the output according to their liking. Each set of nozzles is designed with a slightly different inner cavity, resulting in noticeable adjustments to the output quality.

The Origin arrives in elegant white and grey packaging that exudes sophistication without breaking the bank. Upon unboxing, you’ll discover a thoughtfully organized interior, with the earpieces neatly nestled in the top section and a white carrying case occupying the bottom section, complete with separate compartments for the included accessories. The accessories themselves boast a quality build, adding to the overall premium feel.

One standout feature of the Origin is its inclusion of Tanchjim’s proprietary T-APB ear tips. Designed to prioritize comfort, these ear tips effectively reduce pressure within the ear canal, ensuring a snug and pleasant fit. Tanchjim goes a step further by asserting that these specialized ear tips contribute to an enhanced sound quality, elevating the listening experience for users.

Tanchjim has invested considerable effort into perfecting both the packaging and design of the Origin. The copper wire/silver foil finish cable not only looks stunning but also complements the aesthetics of the IEM seamlessly. Overall, the unboxing experience exudes a sense of premium quality and attention to detail.

However, if there’s one aspect that warrants criticism, the inclusion of a 4.4mm cable would have been advantageous. This would have enabled users to leverage the full potential of their DAPs and DAC/Amps, ensuring optimal performance and an enhanced listening experience.

Design & Fit

Tanchjim has remained consistent with its design approach for Origin, drawing inspiration from its single-DD IEMs such as the Oxygen and Hana. The Origin features exclusive metallic ear shells meticulously crafted with unparalleled precision and craftsmanship. This attention to detail not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the IEM but also underscores Tanchjim’s commitment to delivering exceptional quality in both form and function.
